Q&A with Stephen Preuss city biz

CityBiz recently sat down with PayMore co-founder and CEO Stephen Preuss to discuss the brand’s rapid franchise growth, the evolution of the electronics resale industry and what continues to attract experienced multi-unit operators to PayMore.

In the Q&A, Preuss discussed PayMore reaching its 100th store and growing to more than 600 units in development across four countries. He also highlighted several elements behind the franchise model, including its small-team operations, lower buildout requirements compared with many traditional concepts, and the ability for franchisees to generate revenue beyond the four walls of their stores through PayMore’s e-commerce platform.

The interview also explores PayMore’s role in the growing secondhand electronics market. With consumers increasingly embracing refurbished and second-life technology, PayMore combines local brick-and-mortar stores with an e-commerce platform that connects locally sourced electronics with buyers around the world.

Sustainability remains another major part of the brand’s mission. According to Preuss, PayMore stores collectively recycle more than 1.1 million pounds of e-waste annually while offering customers free electronics recycling and data wiping.
